Mahmod Mohammadi
Dr. Mahmoud Mohammadi was born in 1953 in the Fars province of Iran. He finished his Studies in International Affairs in Italy. An expert in International and European organizations studies and a diplomat with outstanding experiences mainly as the spokesman of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran (1992-1999) he was Ambassador of Iran to Tunisia (1999-2003) and Head Iran-Tunisia Friendship Committee.
Member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament or Majlis) from Fars Province (2004-2008), he became Vice Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee; Head of the Foreign Policy Sub-committee in years 1999 to 2003 and Head of the Inter-parliamentary group with the European Union, Dr. Mohammadi was also Advisor to the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran till 2008.
In addition to his academic responsibilities as Vice-Dean of the School of International Relations (2003-2004), he has been IPA (Inter-Parliamentary Assembly) Assistant Secretary General and member of the A.P.A (Asian Parliamentary Assembly) Forum Committee, for which the Islamic Republic of Iran was assigned to host the meeting in 2006-2008.
Acquainted with the A.P.A's aims and plans to implement article 63, of Tehran’s Declaration, Dr. Mohammadi was assigned as the Secretary General to the 1st Asian Mayors Forum, a gathering of mayors from major Asian Capitals and Metropolises which took place in Tehran on 19 and 20 of November 2008.
He also had active participation in Regional and International Meetings such as the General Assembly of the United Nations, Non-Proliferation and Human Rights Committees, as well as meetings of the OIC, European Parliament, ECO and D8.
Furthermore he has written articles in foreign political affairs, international organizations, international policy and security in French, Italian, English and Arabic.
